In the present generation, Internet is becoming an indispensable resource for Information as it provides unlimited access to electronic resources. In this electronic era, there is enormous growth in the production and use of e-resources.

E-resources include mainly electronic journals, periodicals against paid subscription. These are available in various forms like e-books, full text databases. e-journals, image collections, multimedia in the form of CD-ROM, tape, internet web technology, digital libraries, electronic theses and dissertations, online journals etc. E-resources may include e-news, data archives, e-mail, online chatting also can be called as e-resource. All of them have a common feature of being used and sometimes modified by a computer. These e-resources have become the source of information due to their impressive presentation with multimedia tools.

The present study is focussed on the usage and impact of e-resources in selected sixteen special libraries of Hyderabad. The study revealed that all the libraries covered under the study are fully computerised and automated. The impact of e-resources on researchers found to be very high, as it has improved their quality of research, updating themselves and by also saving time to locate the information. In the digital era usage of e-resources will have a greater impact on the research output of the R&D Organizations in the country.
