This is the second story book of Sri Benudhar Samant containing 16 short Stories.
All the stories tend to indicate activation of generally good nature of human being.
While his thought and action is often adversely affected with unnaturality and unacceptable surprises, they are always watched under the scorching eye of his rationality .This ever present attribute of man is presence of devine in him .
“Basiruti” is the painful thoughts of a mother in law and her bitter feelings towards her daughter in law till she discovers the truth.
“Paperwala” is the story of shattered dreams of a howker,who wanted to be an IAS officer, but ends up as broker of women’s body.
“Abarudhha Asamaya” is woes of an honest officer , he faces in both office and domestic front.
“Jugantara Swapna” is the dream of a school teacher amidst the obstrcles in a system engulfed in corruption and nepotism.
“Ka padara Rahabali” , is the tale of a hired mourner in the village “Ka pada”(it was a village in Odisha) engaging a ka(her friend mourner) to condole bereavement of her grandson.
“Apamrutyu” is about an ailing young man , deciding to commit suicide, faces the choice of crime and hope of living.
